Director of Project Management and Construction Job Description The ideal candidate will oversee utility construction projects from planning to execution. This will include planning, feasibility, budget and schedule analysis, contracts, organization and structure, design, procurement, construction and close out. The position works closely with Senior Management and act as the point of contact for clients, contractors and other stakeholders related to the project. The candidate will be responsible for the project and construction management department as well as individual projects. Project size ranges from $500,000 to $15,000,000, with four to eight projects in progress at any one time. Responsibilities: Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion ensuring that the finished systems meet operational, regulatory and contractual requirements. Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and the project team to meet contractual conditions of performance. Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables. Negotiate agreement terms, manage construction contract drafts, bid on projects, and obtain permits to analyze and mitigate risks. Communicate with the responsible parties to ensure quality construction exceeds company standards and proper industry techniques and processes are utilized, while ensuring the client’s needs and wants are efficiently met. Review projects on a daily basis to ensure quality construction standards exist and estimates remain within budget. Supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and exceed the customer’s requirements. Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, architects, and vendors. Provide guidance and leadership to individual project & construction managers.
