Lutheran Social Services is currently seeking a Janitor to join the team at Homme Youth and Family Programs. This position will perform janitorial duties in a residential facility for adolescent male youth. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, primarily first shift hours.

The Janitorial Service Worker performs direct services related to light cleaning of buildings; possibly where the employee is a tenant or client of the building worked at. Performs other duties as assigned.

LSS is regularly reviewing OSHA and CDC recommendations and guidelines to stay abreast of the ever changing Covid-19 pandemic. LSS employees are currently required to mask regardless of vaccination status when indoors and in the presence of clients or colleagues. Employees are expected to adhere to agency protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

May collect and dispose of waste materials; cleans surrounding areas. May vacuum floors using vacuum cleaner and broom. May sweep and mops floors, stairs and entry ways. May perform housekeeping duties including but not limited to dusting, emptying wastebaskets, scouring sinks and toilets, washing windows, and cleaning blinds. May shovel snow as well as spread salt and sand. May perform direct service related to upkeep of the grounds including watering flowers and raking leaves.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalency is preferred. Previous experience in related work is preferred.

TRAVEL: Ability to travel beyond assigned job site is not a requirement of this position.
