Since 1972 the mission of St. Francis Center is to feed, serve, and walk with the poor as a community of hope in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi. St. Francis Center is a nonprofit social service organization that seeks a Program Manager to assume responsibility for the implementation of St. Francis Center’s comprehensive program services ensuring compliance with the stated objectives. The Programs Manager reports directly to the Executive Director. Duties & Responsibilities: · Maintains spirit, philosophy, and objectives of the Center · Manage and facilitate the following programs: Family Food Pantry Program, Senior Brown Bag Program, Breakfast Program, Mail Program, Youth Summer Camp Programs, Hygiene Program, Holiday Program, Diaper Program, and Mobile Satellite Pantry Programs. · Provide leadership and direction for current and future programs, partnerships, and program staff. · Oversee the case management program and all other related programs. · Pilot and approve any new potential satellite pantry sites and partnerships. · Evaluate programs operation and recommend new or revised procedures to implement changes and improve efficacy. · Update and maintain weekly tracking of data for multiple programs and submit monthly reports to partnering agencies and the Executive Director. · Represent St. Francis Center by attending meetings with various advocacy groups including EveryoneIN campaign, LA Food Policy Council, Don’t Waste LA Coalition, RecycLA. · Oversee annual summer camp and holiday program registration, events, and set up. · Supervise and support program assistants, resource assistants, case managers, and program related staff. · Interview, select and train any new program related team members. · Work closely with management team members to ensure success with meeting strategic planning goals and they relate to programs. · Create a program budget and monitor spending during the fiscal year · Prepare, monitor, and evaluate grant proposals and contracts established for all program related departments. · Engage with Saturday volunteer groups to provide meaningful and enjoyable volunteer experiences in the absence of volunteer coordinator. · Work collaboratively with community partners · Other duties assigned by the Executive Director Needed Skills: Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. Positive and professional attitude with the ability to treat people with sensitivity and maintain confidentiality Must possess the ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse groups of people including clients, community, partners, donors, and other staff. Must have excellent administrative and organizational skills Analytical decision making skills to identify problems and solutions Multi-task with the ability to efficiently complete tasks in a timely manner Strong public speaking skills Able to organize and schedule teams daily workload, support efforts of the team to achieve program goals. Ability to perform under stress and conflict, including dealing with uncooperative guests. Qualifications: Requirements: · Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, and employment and education verifications. Education: · Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (or related discipline) or a combination of relevant education and experience (2 years) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in multi-faceted social service programs in a nonprofit environment. Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in staff management. Knowledge: · Establishing policies, procedures and SOP’s in a nonprofit organization Technology Skills: · Data base management, computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Preferred Skills: Fluent in Spanish/English preferred Master of Social Work of discipline related to program services Experience serving the target community (unhoused, veterans, at-risk youth, low income families) Additional Information: Full-Time/Exempt This is not a remote position Working Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday Ability to stand for up to 2 hours at time and lift, carry, pull up to 30lbs For consideration, please submit cover letter and resume.
