Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems, a subsidiary of Lincoln Electric, is the manufacturing headquarters for both Torchmate® and Vernon Tool® branded product lines. We manufacture CNC plasma cutting machines for two distinct markets: pipe profiling (Vernon Tool), and plate cutting (Torchmate).

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking professional to join our team. Under general supervision, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator will work cross functionally supporting the overall activities to ensure the required regulations, local and corporate directives for Quality and EH&S are meet.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 Continuous Improvement

Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvementSupport or lead continuous improvement activities including continuous improvement action board initiatives

 Quality

Enforce quality standards in all facets of assigned areasDefine, troubleshoot, and assist in the measurement and resolution of daily production quality problemsPerform employee, work center, and piece audits as requiredPerforms inspection of critical production material both make and buy itemsEnter change requests for needed improvements as identified in inspectionsAssist with the evaluation, proper identification, and disposition of all non-conforming items and materialsPerforms physical and transactional movements of discrepant materials. Quarantines discrepant material when defects are detected.Track all significant product, document, and process changes which affect qualitySupport Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and R&D in the design, introduction, inspection and maintenance of new and existing products and equipmentMaintain and improve quality performance metrics and/or quality records including first pass yieldTake an active role in analysis of scrap and yield opportunitiesEnsure that all inspection/manufacturing/test equipment in use is properly calibratedAdvise team leader and/or manager of concerns, problems and progress of work in a timely manner Update controlled documents

 EH&S

Manage EH&S issues at the facility such as maintain permits, preform regulatory inspections, annual reporting, permit compliance, KPI monitoring and reporting according to EMS goals and objectivesMaintains all environmental, health and safety documentation, Safety Data Sheets, and ensures adherence to corporate policies, proceduresOversee and audit container labeling per the Global Harmonizing StandardMaintain and report EH&S performance metrics and data (CR360) for the location and communicating performance to managementFostering employee safety activities that contribute to improved employee involvement in the safety program (BBS, Ergonomics, JHA, 5S, etc.)Coordinating industrial hygiene sampling, evaluating facility exposure levels and providing guidance on the control and management of industrial hygiene exposuresCoordinating, conducting and tracking safety training, contractor orientation and new hire orientationCoordinating facility environmental and safety inspections to ensure compliance to regulatory standards and adherence to corporate policies and proceduresAssist with ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory requirementsInterfacing with regulatory agencies and other external auditors on EH&S issuesAssisting in accident investigation -and incident management (QUEST) using the CAPA processOversee and maintain emergency action plans and the facility emergency manual

  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

High School diploma or G.E.DAssociate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 2 years (minimum) experience preferred Ability to use and read measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, micrometers, pins, gauges) within .001”Interpersonal skills to relate to all levels of personnel in the organizationMust have strong math skillsBasic knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality systems and standardsPrior experience with ISO 9001/ISO14001 certification preferredComputer proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel) is requiredExcellent organizational skills to handle a constantly changing set of priorities with minimal supervisionUncompromising attitude toward EH&S, customer service, and qualityMust be mechanically inclined with ability to read and understand printsMust have the ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory requirements such as the Federal Register, etc.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
