What You ll Do
As a Sr. Engineer, you ll be part of our GTS team located in Towson, MD. You ll get to: Successfully carry out the design process to achieve all quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment. Perform hands-on concept development, proto-typing, product testing, data collection and definition of product specifications. Assist lead engineers to carry out advanced stack-ups and system analysis to ensure product assembly and functionality remain consistent throughout its lifetime. Investigate design issues & test failures, and effectively identify, recommend and implement corrective actions to components. Partner with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Reliability, Field Research) to identify and clearly define customer requirements, and translate those requirements into appropriate product specifications and develop test systems to ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations. Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers/designers to develop a product from start to finish. Support lead engineers to develop schedules to meet build requirements. Support the builds of engineering, manufacturing and pilot lots to ensure that the products are assembled and tested in the correct way to ensure long term product quality Work closely with core GTS motor development team in Towson MD to ensure product designs & requirements align with platform strategies and developments Implements design and process controls, conducts root-cause analysis, and apply statistical and Lean Six-Sigma techniques to maintain and improve product quality as problems arise thru the product development cycle Support the Milestone process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products
Who You Are

You also have: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering with less than 5 years of relevant experience. Computer literate; MS Word, Power Point, Excel, 2D/3D CAD (CATIA V5 preferred), FEA Demonstrated ability to dissect a problem to find the root cause, design a solution and create a test method to prove out the issue really is fixed. Enjoy getting your hands dirty and being involved in building, testing and de-bugging tools throughout the development cycle Experience with product development: Design, DFM, root cause analysis, test instrumentation and data acquisition and analysis Ability and interest in learning about new technologies and processes Quality use of or familiarity with statistical tools, process capability, DOE s, stack-ups Coordination of internal and external resources Enjoy Full/fast-paced design cycles that average 2 years and a dynamic work environment Ability for possible international travel to visit manufacturing locations (post-COVID) What You ll Receive
